Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
This Policy explains what personal data ByteBourne collects, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It's written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the DPDP Rules, 2025.
1. Who we are
ByteBourne is operated by Abhishek Wadhawan, an individual based in India, at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), Punjab 140301, India. Under the DPDP Act, ByteBourne is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].

| Messages | Emails and contact-form messages you send us | You |
We never receive or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or banking password. Razorpay handles those directly.
3. Why we use it
We use your personal data only to:
- Create and run your account, and sign you in.
- Host, display, and run the content you publish.
- Provide AI features and keep track of your AI credits.
- Process payments for credits and Pro, and send receipts.
- Send emails you need: account, security, payment, and Pro-expiry emails.
- Send ByteBourne product news and announcements, only if you opt in (you can opt out at any time).
- Send creators' newsletters to people who subscribed to them.
- Keep the Service secure: prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Fix bugs and understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can improve it.
- Meet our legal obligations.
We process your data based on your consent (which you give when you create an account or opt in to something), and for the "legitimate uses" the DPDP Act allows, such as complying with the law.
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run ByteBourne, and only what each one needs:
| Type of provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers | Running the website and app, storing data and files, and keeping the service secure |
| Media providers | Storing and delivering images and videos |
| Email delivery provider | Sending account, payment, and newsletter emails |
| Razorpay (payment processor) | Processing payments |
| AI model providers | Generating AI responses. Inputs are sent only when you use an AI feature. Where available, we use settings that stop providers from keeping or training on your data. |
| GitHub, LinkedIn, X, Dev.to | Sign-in, and sharing your content when you ask us to |
These providers act on our instructions and may use your data only to provide their service to us. We'll share the current list of providers on request: email [email protected].
We may also disclose data when required by law, a court order, or a government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the Service.
Public content: anything you publish, and your public profile, is visible to everyone on the internet.
5. International transfers
Some of these providers store or process data outside India. We only use providers with appropriate security safeguards, and we follow any restrictions the Government of India sets on transferring data abroad.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and content: while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except as below.
- Payment records: kept for up to 8 years, because Indian tax and accounting laws require it.
- Security logs: kept for up to 1 year.
- Backups: removed as backups rotate, within 90 days.
- Accounts left unused: if you don't use your account for 3 years, we'll email you. If you don't respond within 48 hours of that email, we may delete the account.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Access a summary of your personal data and how we use it.
- Correct or update it. Most of it you can change yourself in Settings.
- Erase it, by deleting your account in Settings → Security or by emailing us.
- Withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it: unsubscribe links, notification settings, or deleting your account. Anything we did before you withdrew stays lawful.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
- Raise a grievance with us (section 10), and if you're not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected] from the email address on your account.
8. Children
ByteBourne is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Cookies
We use only the cookies we need to run the Service:
- A sign-in session cookie, so you stay logged in.
- A bot-protection check, to tell people apart from bots on forms.
We also keep a few preferences and unsaved drafts in your browser's local storage (for example, editor layout), which never leave your device unless you save them.
We measure page performance with a privacy-friendly tool that uses no tracking cookies. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we ever add analytics or other optional cookies, we'll ask for your consent first, and saying no will be as easy as saying yes.
10. Security and grievances
We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, encrypted storage of connected-account tokens, access controls, and security monitoring. If a personal data breach affects you, we'll inform you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
Grievance Officer
- Name: Abhishek Wadhawan, Founder
- Email: [email protected]
- Address: S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), Punjab 140301, India
We'll acknowledge your grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.
11. Changes to this Policy
If we change this Policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the product before the change takes effect, and update the date at the top.
